Jak wyjaśnia portal WP Turystyka, zdarzenie to miało miejsce na Plaży Reynisfjara, która znajduje się w pobliżu wioski Vík í Mýrdal na południu Islandii, a krajobraz jest tam wyjątkowo malowniczy.

- Miejsce jest nie tylko bajkowe, ale także bardzo niebezpieczne. Fale tzw. sneaker wave, choć mogą wyglądać niepozornie, w rzeczywistości są bardzo silne. W ciągu ostatniej dekady w tym miejscu zginęło pięć osób. Niewiele brakowało, aby nagrani turyści również zostali porwani przez ocean – czytamy.
